One thing for certain is that the Toronto Raptors are going to have to spend a lot of money in the upcoming free agency period if they hope to keep their core group of players together.

Starters DeMar DeRozan, Jonas Valanciunas, Terrence Ross, and Amir Johnson are all under contract for next season, which is a good thing.

The expensive part will be in trying to lock up free-agent-to-be Kyle Lowry and pending restricted free agents Patrick Patterson and Greivis Vasquez.

There probably won’t be much financial wiggle room left after some or all of those priorities are taken care of, so the Raptors will have to do some bargain hunting to address their remaining roster needs.

The draft and trades will also play a likely role in shaping the roster for next season.

For now, though, here is my opinion of five inexpensive free agents who could wind up in a Raptors uniform in 2014-15.
