Starting Lineups

These head to-heads aren’t set in stone because both teams have interchangeable players at the 2,3 and 4 spots. So expect to see several cross matchups.

Point Guard – Mario Chalmers vs. Deron Williams

Deron Williams may no longer be in the best point guard in league debate anymore but don’t get it twisted, he is still elite. Once he gets the pep in his step and goes into fancy dribble mode, he is almost impossible to guard.

At 6’3” and 210 pounds, he is a big-bodied point guard and that comes in handy if his outside shot isn’t falling because he can easily bully the smaller guards (which is pretty much every other point guard) in the post.

Clearly it’s advantage Brooklyn but, as is the case with every other series, Chalmers will make it extremely difficult and will pester Williams throughout the series. He is the Heat’s fourth option on offense behind the Big Three and if he is aggressive, he could easily be the X-factor who can provide 15 to 20 points, thus taking some attention from the likes of Wade and James.
