After tough first-round tests the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs routed the fifth-seeded Portland Trail Blazers Tuesday 116-92 to open the Western Conference Semifinals.
Despite having two more days off, Portland never led and trailed the final 41 minutes by double figures. The Blazers, who were able to oust the fourth-seeded Houston Rockets 99-98 in Portland on Damian Lillard‘s buzzer-beater Friday, were in awe of San Antonio during the first half and never could get their offense in high gear.
Lillard had scored at least 20 points during seven games versus the silver and black prior in his career. However, the Spurs killer had a rough night at the AT&T Center during Game 1, only scoring 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting and 5-of-6 from the line along with six turnovers.
