San Antonio Spurs: Beaten By Mavericks, Vince Carter At Buzzer In Game 3

On Saturday the eighth-seeded Dallas Mavericks stunned the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs 109-108 on Vince Carter‘s buzzer-beating 3-point shot. Just 1.7 seconds earlier Manu Ginobili gave San Antonio the lead during the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

Fittingly Carter, who made the most triples off the bench this year, double-pumped prompting Ginobili, who didn’t score until 4:32 remained in the third period, to fly past him for the game-winner with all zeroes on the clock.

Through two contests eighth-seeded Dallas’ physical play had gotten the better of the Spurs’ free-flowing offense. The Mavs, however, couldn’t finish the opener losing 90-85. Instead of putting their heads down Dallas destroyed San Antonio 113-92 during Game 2 and had a little luck on their side during Game 3.

The Spurs now find themselves in a Game 7 mentality during their next contest Monday despite having a Game 5 and possibly a Game 7 at the AT&T Center.
