The 2013-14 season isn’t even a week in the books and we’re already looking ahead to next season. That’s right, like most college basketball fans we don’t want to waste a second or live in a time when the sport isn’t in our lives.

Of course, when compiling the rankings for a season that’s six months away, we have to consider a few things. For instance, we have to make assumptions on who stays in school and who jumps to the NBA. Another thing we must consider is that Myles Turner, one of the top ranked recruits in the 2014 recruiting class, still hasn’t decided where he will be playing basketball next season. His decision will change at least one team’s outlook for next season.

So here we go, the top programs heading into the 2014-15 college basketball season, which is appropriately termed as the “What The Hell Are We Thinking” rankings (or, the more proper “2014-15 College Basketball Rankings”). For now we’ll stick with the top 10 but a more thorough ranking will be out once the NBA draft decisions have all been made.
