The Orlando Magic are just about to wrap up their worst season since the 2003-04 season and it’s safe to say that this team could use some re-tooling in the offseason to become a contending franchise again.

With the 2014-15 NBA salary cap set to be around $62.1 million, the Magic will have about $26.5 million in cap space come this summer and around $20 million after the signing of draft picks. The Magic will have some money to play around with this summer and maybe make some moves to push their franchise forward, but maybe it might be smarter to make some smaller, smart moves as opposed to going all in on one particular player.

With a young roster base of Victor Oladipo and Nikola Vucevic, the Magic can have a bright future, especially if they play their cards right, and make some smart moves in this year’s free agency period.

I hate reporters like this .talking out the side of his neck. Our worst season since 03 04. He must of forgot we only won 20 games last year.

And we don’t need none of them dudes . We could win right now. we just want one more key piece n the draft.

Well, Mills’d be cool, I mean, I’d take him over Moore. But next year should be more about seeing what we’ve got, who we’ve got and how they play considering we could be adding 2 rookies. Then looking at FAs next summer.

I like that too. With the money they have, it wouldn’t kill them from adding a few smaller pieces, but either way I think they’re at least 2-3 years away from being immediate contenders.

I think saying the Magic could win right now is a bit of a stretch, but the team isn’t too far away. That’s why instead of going all in on some of the bigger names in FA, I think they should go for more role/bench players to help them.
