Denver’s Rally Falls Short As San Antonio’s Streak Hits 15 Despite Scare

Twenty-four days later the Spurs had a fourth-period meltdown permitting the Nuggets to pull within three points after trailing by as many as 24. San Antonio led by 19 during the fourth period before a 12-0 Denver spurt made things interesting. With 3:30 left the Nuggets crept within four, but ultimately Denver’s rally came up short at the AT&T Center 108-103.

A couple days later the Spurs weren’t as kind at the Pepsi Center routing the Nuggets 133-101. San Antonio led 62-43 at the half and never allowed Denver back in the contest during the second 24 minutes. The Nuggets were unable to get within 16 points the final 26:17 as Marco Belinelli scored a game-high 27 on 10-15 shooting.

Overall though the Spurs have not been tested much in San Antonio since early February winning eight of 11 home contests by at least nine points. Sacramento tested the Spurs 95-93 Feb. 1, but were crushed by San Antonio 99-79 on March 21 at Sleep Train Arena.
