POTENTIAL PLAYOFF MATCHUPS

Here’s where the red flags start to fly. Against the Los Angeles Clippers, the Rockets are 0-3. Against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Rockets are 0-3. That doesn’t bode well for Houston, considering they’re going to have to face those teams (without homecourt advantage) to get through the conference.

Surprisingly, the Rockets are a perfect 3-0 against the NBA’s best team (in terms of record, at least), the San Antonio Spurs. Sometimes a team just matches up well against another and this is absolutely one of those cases.

The Rockets average 106.7 points against the Spurs, while allowing just 98.0 points. They get to the free-throw line 31.7 times per game, with San Antonio getting there just 19.0 times. Lastly, they have pounded them on the glass, with 53.0 rebounds to the Spurs’ 39.3.
