Daily NBA Fix 3-16-14: There’s Futility … And Then There’s The 76ers

WASHINGTON WIZARDS 101, Brooklyn Nets 94
Drew Gooden, out of the league a month ago, scored 11 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter as the Wizards rallied from 10 points down in the final period to beat the Nets. Gooden’s 3-pointer with 2:37 to go broke a 94-94 tie. John Wall had 33 points for the Wizards, Gooden scored 21 and Bradley Beal had 15. Marcus Thornton paced the Nets with 19 points, Joe Johnson added 16 and Paul Pierce had 15. Shaun Livingston notched four steals.
NEW YORK KNICKS 115, Milwaukee 94
The Knicks won their season-high sixth straight game, taking a 60-42 lead over the hapless Bucks and cruising in the second half. Carmelo Anthony scored 23 points for New York, Tim Hardaway Jr. added 20 and Amar’e Stoudemire and J.R. Smith tossed in 15 points each. Nate Wolters led Milwaukee with 15 points.
