Expectations can be a weird thing. Every sport is heavily reliant on predictions, rankings and expectations, putting a label on every  team before a single minute has been played. While some exceed those expectations, others fail to live up to them, proving that sometimes it’s better to just let the process play itself out.

Before the 2013-14 college basketball season at least five different teams were ranked in most major pre-season polls and currently find themselves outside of the rankings and even fighting for a potential at-large bid for the 2014 NCAA tournament. Some of these teams started off the season hot but couldn’t keep the pace, causing them to fall into the middle of the pack.

We’ll look at some of the most disappointing teams in college basketball this season and determine whether or not they can be fixed.
