Some may say it’s unfair to pick on Anthony Bennett, but I say nay nay. He’s a professional basketball player and he gets to play alongside Kyrie Irving and Luol Deng. I don’t expect him to be the second coming of basketball Jesus, but I do expect him to do a little bit better than his 2.3 PER. His true shooting percentage is a sucktastic .336 (also worst in the league) and his offensive rating is, well, REALLY OFFENSIVE at a 71. He did just set a career high with 15 points and tied a career high with eight rebounds against the New Orleans Pelicans a few nights back, so maybe he’s turning a corner. Either that or he’s becoming familiar with those junk time stats that one can rack up on a bad team.
