We’re just over halfway through the NBA’s regular season and things are starting to normalize a bit. Nobody really expected the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers to be on top of the Atlantic Division for long, did they? The great equalizer, as always, is time. Over the long run, your cream will rise to the top and those flash-in-the-pan teams will cool off and settle to the bottom.

This NBA season has been a strange one, with teams like the Phoenix Suns succeeding, despite the expectation that they were going to tank. Then we’ve got teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves, who can’t seem to get anything but their trolling motor started. Lastly, we’ve got the Portland Trail Blazers, who are the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference with a 33-11 record. For some contrast, the No. 3 seed in the West is a full 9.5 games behind that. Strange year, indeed.

Let’s take a look at three hot NBA teams that are making a big move towards the playoffs.
