NBA Power Rankings, Jan. 16 Edition: Streaky Denver Nuggets On The Rise

Coach Brian Shaw shortened his rotation around the start of the New Year and it’s made a difference for the Denver Nuggets, who were one of three teams to move up three spots in this week’s HoopsHabit.com NBA Power Rankings.

The Nuggets followed up an eight-game losing streak with a five-game winning streak and after a loss at Utah on Monday got back on the winning side of things with a 123-116 victory at Golden State on Wednesday. That brings the Nuggets up three spots to No. 11 this week, just on the cusp of a top 10 that has been mostly static for the better part of a month now.

The other big movers up were the Sacramento Kings, up three spots to No. 20, and the New York Knicks, who rose three spaces to No. 21.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Charlotte Bobcats dropped four positions to No. 23.
