I know, I know. LeBron James is shooting 60 percent from the field. He’s a two-time defending champion and he’s still the best player in basketball. I’m not denying any of that, because when LeBron is locked in, there’s no one on earth that can match him. But if the season ended today and I had an MVP vote (I don’t, by the way), mine would absolutely go to Kevin Durant. Since this is a much closer argument than most people realize, here’s a breakdown of why no one should be outraged if LeBron James doesn’t win his fifth MVP award.
