In the past week, the Atlanta Hawks took full advantage of a string of games that would have been deemed by most to be extremely winnable. With the Hawks’ identity continuing to burgeon and the players developing a greater understanding of the new coach’s system, three of the West’s strugglers did not strike fear in the hearts of Atlanta’s finest.

With all three games at home, first it was the turn of the Lakers iconic purple and gold to visit on Monday as the Hawks attempted to split the season series. On Wednesday night, Shaquille O’Neal, Rudy Gay and Mike Malone’s Sacramento Kings came to town looking to avenge their defeat from earlier in the season. While finally, the lowly Utah Jazz came to visit on Friday, with Ty Corbin’s club having nowhere near enough to match the Hawks.

Having been unable to reach this mark for so long, the Hawks finally moved more than one game above the .500 mark this week, currently standing at 15-12.
